Detours

The bore of the quest for preservation
Leads to some irresistible detours
None are blind, everything is beheld
A bouquet of blameless beggars
Chewing softly on bitter cyanide apple seeds
The logical, the delinquent
Are mongrel buds on the same unraveled tongue
Lapping up the frothy presentation
Commissioned by overlords
As absent or as present
As the dumb glare of caution tape
That you sidestep and repair
The wise winking of wilted orchids
Willful, searching, finished, and found
