Her

(Golden Shovel)

After "The Blue Angel" poem by Allen Ginsberg
(Her face is powdered, whitewashed and
immobile like a robot.)

They simply call her "Her"
now. She wears extravagant gowns and is ruggedly fair of face.
Her dreams had no air when she was a young boy. Now she is
happy. Painted and powdered,
she has diligently whitewashed
her memories and
no longer feels the depths of despair. No longer immobile
in her blue plaid bed like
a gutted animal that has become a
clubhouse for scavengers and vultures feasting next to the rusting robot.
