mike sluchinski
a driver with cataracts on the way to mae salong
he wasn't blind but could he see
green jungle floating down and hills rose with the road
that was a question that the people
who rode in the back of
an old painted thai truck
on some long benches
and a step to get inside
didn't ask they
couldn't see him drive
around the corners
late morning with some
sun in his eyes
i sat beside him in
the front
learning to pray all over again
