Salt Memory

The sea keeps everything
it cannot name
a ring, a bone,
the outline of a voice.
I walk the shore barefoot,
step into what remains
of someone else's goodbye. The tide comes in
with its soft erasure,
rewriting loss
as glitter.
Salt clings to my skin,
a reminder that grief
does not dissolve,
only crystallizes,
waiting for the next wave.
