Nature boy
rimu and she-oak needles
form a grid over the mud
still spongy but good to walk on
the bike track down through the trees
signposted 11 yrs or older
naturally entices younger daredevils
beside the wooden steps
the channel scored by narrow tyres
also attracts rain
plodding determinedly uphill
the dog and I as usual
unobservant but aware of all these things
