blue vein streams,
knuckle ridges
the velvety delta of her hand.
At a steady pace, they kneaded dough.
Under the lamplight, stitched needles
Cupped my face to check for a temperature.
They could stop a youngster from sobbing.
point toward groupings of stars
Smooth a crumpled sheet level.
Her lap is folded, and they are resting.
The scenario of her love remained as it was.
I still remember their geography, though.
And they are always in motion in my dreams.
