Faded Lines

The chair sits empty,
a silent sentinel in the corner.
Dust gathers on the cushion
where you once leaned back,
laughing,
filling the room.

Now, echoes bounce off bare walls—
our dialogue reduced to monologue.
I trace the indents you left behind,
a script of memories
too deep to dust away.
Each day, your laughter fades
a shade lighter.
