George Young
When We Saw Swifts
darting across our TV screens
during the bombing in the most recent
Israeli/Palestinian war—
how they flew to and from their nests in cracks
high in the Wailing Wall—
they were like beautiful scimitars
cutting through all that smoke, reminding us
of all the powers of Nature.
