Dance

Do not ask me to dance
I eat green walls
in a meditative state of bowed legs
ripening into eternity

Do not ask me to dance
I am not your perfect synchrony
holding breath, lifting a limb, blizzard
in rapture

Do not ask me to dance
I am the undulating river
flooding plains, unrhythmic,
refusing to flow into Ocean.
