When If/Then, Cause/Effect
fail at mapping solid ground
Because, short-term saviour
springs to my rescue
with retrospective explanations
that spur me on
from perfidious swampland
to plausible ground.
It pours as much honey
on bitter fruits as on benign ones,
Because, my dubious friend.
