Bio


Sekhar Banerjee is a Pushcart Award nominated poet. The Ferngatherers' Association (2021) is his latest collection of poems. He has been published in Indian Literature, The Bitter Oleander, Ink Sweat and Tears, The Lake, Kitaab, Better Than Starbucks, Thimble Literary Magazine, The Tiger Moth Review, Outlook and elsewhere. He has a monograph on an Indo-Nepal border tribe to his credit. He hails from Jalpaiguri - an old tea town in sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Mourning

A faint sob in a dark corner
in the closed carpentry workshop
Though the night sleeps on
I know new furniture always mourn
the dead logs
