Bio
Christopher Palmer is a poet and visual artist based in Canberra, Australia. He's been published in eleven countries, including in the Australian Poetry Journal, Blue Collar Review, The Brasilia Review, The Galway Review, Shot Glass Journal, and Takahē, among others. His first collection, Afterlives, was published by Ginninderra Press in 2016.

It was a fine second-hand wardrobe
made from silky oak
I'd bought when I left home.
For thirty years
I opened and closed the bottom drawer
without noticing words, burned
into the underside of the bottom panel
bleeding into the grain
staining the wood
indelibly and intelligibly
shouting the phrase
White Labour Only.
