Terri Kirby Erickson
Grocery Shopping
with My Husband
The sky at dusk
is streaked with
shades of pink
and gold. It pays
no more mind
to us, crossing
the grocery store
parking lot, than
an elephant pays
to an ant. But,
while pushing
our cart to the
car, we marvel
at its rose-colored
light, how kind
it is to aging faces.
