My Mother's Cookie Cutters

I found my mother's red plastic
cookie cutters and put

them in a clear glass jar.
They sit on my kitchen counter,

talking amongst themselves,
mostly about the taste

of sugar, the feel of warm
dough, my mother's soft hands.
