Lani Jo Leigh is a wife, mother, grandmother, lover, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, colleague,
endurance walker, filmmaker, singer, story-teller, priestess, poet, witch, baker, apple butter maker,
and washer of sheets. She started writing poetry in 2009 when she contacted an old lover on FaceBook,
and he responded with a poem. She took that as a challenge and wrote one back. Since then she's stopped
corresponding with the old lover, but words wake her in the night, and she both desires and dreads days
spent parsing syllables. She is a regular reader at Three Friends Coffeehouse in Portland, OR,
where she lives with her husband and neurotic dog, Elvis.
