Icarus
when the evening sun undoes its immortal aloofness i read sonnet after sonnet
about icarus and his mortal wings
made from wax and feathers and faded touches of the human spine
curved like a body of ocean
before myth stooped downwards to stick its small hands in water
only to fall palm first into wet
and unknoweable saliva of a sea god who remains unnamed minute after
minute even as i close these eyelids of the sun
