Ray Malone is an Irish writer and artist living in Berlin, Germany, working on a series of projects based on various musical and/or literary models. His work has been published in numerous journals in the US, UK and Ireland.

a few words found in a corner, not one of them
of use, left to themselves there, dried out,
so hollow as to be soundless, senseless,
as near to dust as the dust itself,
the form of them fading, a mere film
felt between the fingers, the inexplicable event
of themselves, as far away from here
as the first act of speech, as were the first I love you
the last : the gathering goes on,
the body sheds them, there's nothing to be done,
but find the once flesh, forgotten there,
and breathe life into them
