When their father died
she told the kids he had been abducted by aliens, his soul sucked up into a
flying hearse and blasted straight to heaven and it wasn't hard to believe
because every Christmas he told them the pine cones in the yard were
reindeer poop, and he went a bit scatological with the Easter Bunny and
chocolate eggs as well, and who could forget that 4th of July he wagged
the stub of his index finger at them while recounting the history of fireworks
as he learned it.
