Ancient faced Mumbai
These huge, warmly lit buildings
Standing beside the shoreline of an ocean
Brings its breath as a breeze to the city
People halt at this place, its pace
Frozen in time like fragments of blue waves
The thud of water increases its intensity
Makes the water sparkle white when it hits
Stones, the moon raising the tides in the dusk
Its greyness is still in the shapes of clouds
Mumbai is a motion of the bodies
Ancient from its face cut.
