SL Fogleman
Wait out your grief so they say
it's like riding some mad bronc with bulging bloodshot eyes and flaring nostrils
that wants to throw you off with each jerk and twist of its gyrating body lefts
and rightsups and downstwists and turnsnever knowing
where the damn thing is going if you'll survive the ridewaiting
for the damn horse for the damn griefto stopriding until
you can ride no more falling off or walk away out of sheer exhaustion
or desperationleaving the damn griefridden outwrung outlimp
Bio
SL Fogleman has been inspired by nature throughout his life. From his early years in rural California, to hiking and backpacking in the three major U.S. mountain chains, to his fascination with other places, other ways of being. His writing naturally – pun intended – bends towards nature. Specifically, he's keen on looking for the intersections between nature and ourselves and how we can better understand ourselves through that intersection.
