If I'm oregano, then you are salt,
I murmur as I tuck your hair
behind your ear.
If I'm oregano
you are my sage, wisdom
I can't do without.
If I'm oregano, I'll thrive
in your fresh light. I'll stay
forever in this grand design
and you'll be peppermint
beside me in the garden patch
tempting my appetite.
