Lea Galanter
Gin Joy Memorial
Frankly, there was no rediscovering gin joy
the juniper juice that now
makes me want to cringe
put a visor over my eyes
and cry me a river
that ceding liquid is no joyride
forcing me to listen to the gory details
of serviced orgies from last year's divorcées
their exploits still ringing in my ears
I'll keep my jive records
drink hard cider with frisky codgers
at the old siring roadhouse
tend to my summer irises
and reconsider jogging in the mornings
