Looking Back

There was a time
When the house smelt of flowers
And your laughter filled the room
With sunlight,
Freesias, white and yellow, pink and red,
And you wore a bridal gown
Of pale pink lace
And roses on your head
And floated down the aisle
A free spirit
Moving to a different life of childhood dreams
Reflected in the children
Now playing at your feet
