In the desert
the moon bays at dogs while
shadows of red sand
blow across the sky and
the same moon
cannot make a sound over the ocean.

Barry Green is retired and lives in Ashland, Virginia. He writes short fiction and poems, works in his garden and tends to the woods that surround it.
