Marc Darnell
The tightened strings, the drunken bouts,
the fire fuming in savage rings–
these are the things he wrote about–
the tightened strings, the drunken bouts,
the jack-in-the-box that wouldn't come out.
These are anxiety's favorite things–
the tightened strings, the drunken bouts,
the fire fuming in savage rings.
