Shot Glass Journal began in March 2010 as an online journal dedicated to short poetry. Our vision was to have a medium that could capture a slice of life, a brief moment, or simple thought expressed through poetry.

Shot Glass Journal captures the essence of poetry in its shorter form. The challenge is to portray an idea, an image, or an emotion with fewer words. As with all poetry, it takes a talented poet to craft a good poem, and by using fewer words, the weight of each word makes a more powerful impact.
