After the day's bruising sky
the unforgiving rain clears
to a wisp of eider down
as your waxing crescent
hovers in billowy inflection
delights in gauze-winged shine
tender as the lover's lock
smouldering as the bride's veil
or a plume of a vulnerable heart
floating witness to a carcaseless ground.
