SAD
I can only think
of surviving winter
if I become a bear
in a thick black coat
lumbering from kitchen
to garden & bed at dark
when the hens
are perched & comatose
the brown sludge of cold earth
sodden in daily rain
is my mind
inside a mire of chores
life lies fallow
no sun beckons me
out of doors
