Cherry Blossom in Winter
The tree still shakes bright and inviting
even with all the blossom gone
a residual imprint is stamped on the sky
A ghost colony of pink butterflies
hold tight to bare brown branches
fluttering in their cloud of thousands
So now when the winter moon
frosts crinkles across her bony fingers
a memory of pink paints the air
