Edward G. Boggs
The Master of Manhattan
Michelangelo lived down the alley
where he tagged by night
and sipped cheap merlot in the day
by the city where the lady stood tall
while striking a pose and waiting for her ship to come in
with no more than a casual sigh and a glance he mocks her
while his friend Julius persuades him to pursue a higher calling :
Now he sells tie-dye t-shirts on the boardwalk
that some swear even the angels dare covet.
Bio
Edward G. Boggs is an emerging voice in the realm of poetry. His love of the written word is rooted from his youth, when he discovered literature. He has dabbled in the fine arts and enjoyed the pleasure of live theatre during his stint of formal education. His philosopy is, "A true artist is always in the becoming". The door to poetry has only been unlocked to him in the last few years and he considers it undiscovered country to be explored with a childlike curiosity and wonder. He resides with his amazing wife Charlotte, a gifted painter and their wonder budgie, Beakie Birdie. He is currently writing a literary work, The Favorable Year.
