Anthony Ward is an AutoCAD operative from the North of England and has been writing in his spare time for a number of years. He finds himself extremely contemplative about the world around him which often invokes him to have to set his thoughts to rest.
I can hear you breathing as if you were trying.
Wandering the entirety of the room
As if it were more spacious than you intended it to be.
Doors opening and closing as if someone were there.
Traffic looming towards me as if in the distance,
Reminding me of their immaculate position,
As if everything were essential to this feeling–
Compulsively committed to the moment.
While I lie in the darkness,
With only myself as company,
Mystified by the memories about to occur.
