Julie Bolt
Remember
Remember the stars, the trees, the music,
The smile that caught you completely off guard?
The spontaneous laugh with a stranger!
I do. I remember.
I remember before I was alive
I remember when I loved you and loved myself.
I remember when we were not beyond hope.
I remember when I was that other person
behind those other eyes.
I remember when I was perfect.
I remember when you were glorious.
Do you see and remember yourself?
Do you remember me when we were different?
When the sun rose, I was almost you.
