The end

The end happened so quickly and I felt nothing.

Everything was whisked away, sterilized, and made anew
I felt nothing while signing the papers, listening to the mundane niceties,
Trying to act interested, trying to be the good one, and trying to live up to
the expectations.

Later, after everyone was gone. After, their lives returned to normal.
I couldn't breathe. I couldn't stop feeling. I couldn't stop remembering.
And That was the beginning.

The beginning happened so quickly and I felt everything.
