Pressure
(Petrarchan Sonnet)
Compressed beneath the thumbs of billionaires
Our energy weak, flickers and wanes
Life empties our wallets, our veins
The poor must endure these imposed nightmares
How to add this and this and get to there
Each tomorrow a mountain inhumane
And meanwhile the "elites" toast with champagne
and post edicts from castles in the air
We must regain hope, turn back to the light
Muster our courage, wrestle the lies
And don't let them make this black, brown or white
We are many you need to realize
A union of souls who know what is right
What do you believe in enough to rise?
