Peanut Butter
Yesterday, I found you in a jar of peanut butter.
I unscrewed the lid and there you were, teasing me in that way that brothers do.
"Everyone knows," is what you said, "peanut butter belongs in the pantry, not the fridge."
It brought a smile, and then a tear; to remember that long ago debate.
Do you remember? Like I do, the brand of strawberry jam? The color of the plates?
Or now, is just the one side, my side, all that remains of those memories?
