What I Will Teach My Daughter
It is simple.
A freckled kissed upon the swell of my breast,
an angel's touch just for me.
My vagina treated lovingly with my own hands,
never to know a harmful touch.
Blood shed from within me,
a reminder of the power, the respect I demand.
I worship the stretch marks on my thigh
embedded in the skin - sexy.
I scrub my skin down to the bone,
finding the sacrifices of women before me.
My daughter will grow up
loving herself and knowing her worth,
as my mom taught me.
