Frank Freeman
Nina In The Fireflies
That night before we buried Nina
she came to us with her flame
crystallized into millions of throbbing fireflies
a dancing constellation of yellow stars
the heavens come down to earth
to bring back a shining one
The next day in the gathered heat
not wanting to wash our hands of the dust
