Devon Borkowski
From Florida
The lights over the beach bar are red orange and hazy
A glowing line of overripe tangerines
It's enough light to read by
Though mostly I'm feeling for my phone at my hip
Waiting on a buzz
I'm not nearly half as fond of Florida as I am of you
The sky's gone a soft purple over the hotel
My feet are tucked up under my thighs in the hammock
But I know if I reached for the ground the sand would hold warm
And just as soft as it had been at daybreak
