Autumn equinox

Walking long-shadowed, dusk-softened streets,
sultry in stolen light, palled into a dust
hazy horizon. Meeting night leisurely
with its slow starred silent heartbeat.

Waking to deep drawn dreamt, befogged
dawn, a frame to cool-clouded,
smoke-steeped days briskly
making their crackled leafed a way into winter.
