David Gale works as a quality manager in the UK and has a number of published poems and haiku. His work tends to be inspired by his environment, particularly on walks with his rescue dogs.
This Christmas moon is a moon of precision
measured out in shaped positions by the
shutter of the pressed finger and thumb,
days in and days out around the hand-
concealed festive globe, the daily move
smooth as the measured arc of the cantilever
with no more pull than the babble of far off waves,
gently swinging from our Earth's motherly hips.
Tonight you seem part of us, somehow reachable,
like our wish of other souls this Christmas day.
