In the surf with my daughter
About you, a wave breaks, spluttering your
laughter. You bob out further; I dive through
breakers, following. The foam is glass shards,
your shrieks all wrong; too full of absence of fear,
you drift further, faster. Stern words catch in the
surf, tumble beneath but I leap, catch your arm.
