The Fly

A fly boarded the express train
at Taita Station.
An express,
this train
was
not!
We
were
Moving
very slow.
The train was crowded,
passengers were agitated.
Many looked down at their watches then out the window,
then back to their watches again.
The second hand ticked,
but the time
seemed to
stand
Still.

Lonnard Dean Watkins lives in Wellington, New Zealand where he works as an IT consultant.

Lonnard has had poetry and haiku published in a number of journals including Heron's Nest and Acorn Haiku Journal. He is also an artist and has combined both art and poetry in a series of zen paintings and haiga.
