Michael N. Thompson
Stumble Inn
Tugging on the rip cord
Of the number 19,
I disembark
Where Geary meets Larkin
And stop into The Stumble Inn
For a quick one
To rinse off the day
The young Korean barkeep
Tends to me longer
Than the regulars prefer,
But my best years
Are still to come
While theirs
Are disappearing fast
In the rear-view mirror
