Frances Koziar has publications in 25+ literary magazines, and is seeking an agent for a diverse NA/YA fantasy novel. I drink the wind
like a dying woman given her medicine, gaze
intently at the bare branches above me as if their slender arms
might erase the memory of other ones, escape through that wild beauty
to a home I can only just taste, feet pounding, heart
racing, ever seeking a world
