Leah Mueller
Four Alarm Blaze
Fire engine in the rain,
somebody's house
erupted into flames
against all the odds.
After a valiant battle,
it will collapse
into smoldering embers.
Nothing will be saved.
I know my own chances
aren't any better,
so I smile
and pour myself
a third glass of wine.
