Janeen Pergrin Rastall
Things Undone
An abandoned nest
rolling across the forest floor
stops upturned at her feet.
She hesitates
before stepping over it.
Portions
Tucked in the leaves on a bottom branch,
blueblack, surrounded by smaller berries,
only after popping it in your mouth
do you feel the ant
crawling out of the hollow
where it had been feasting.
