Rustle
We were about to cross Matalino Street,
west wind blowing against us,
when our little Mikael stood still, tilted his head
and raised his right arm, shoulder level,
rightward (windward as a wind vane),
then shook himself and said,
"If I am paper."
We all laughed, the wind blowing back
our hair, shirts, and laughter. I wanted
to scoop and fold him in my arms
but refrained — lest I unpaper him.
