between Sulawesi and Java

Did worldsmiths
set fine metals
into this jewelled sea?
The islands far below
are traced with silver filigree,
as breaking waves encounter
the shallows of their reefs
and sands, from long dead corals,
shimmer like gold leaf.
The blues of sky and ocean
trick me, horizontally,
and turning from my window,
the whole world turns with me.
