Christine Redman-Waldeyer
Dandelion in February
What brought you forth
that I could only walk by astounded
could not pick the miracle
held by a quick frost
Were you my cacti flower
unseasonable in Mexico,
my Mary driving me to believe
I too could see?
or
Were you science
hurled at me,
an ice ball from a bully. I the child
running, running
skimming the ground dodging
what would soon outpace me.
