Lonnard Dean Watkins

Gone

Gone
Their
Laughter
Gone their tears
Gone their names once known
Gone the battlefields where they fought

Gone their grieving but not their scars
Gone their innocence
Gone their truth
All truth -
Now
Gone

Toast to Loneliness

Drunk
Sloshed
Tippsy
Yet again
Beer to fill my stein
I drink a toast to loneliness

Damn you, damn me, damn everyone
Leaving me alone
Wallowing
In ale
Dead
Drunk
